All-real pictures show why Japan’s “Lady of Eternal Youth” doesn’t need photoshop【Photos】

Masako Mizutani , also known as the “Lady of Eternal Youth”, is a Japanese model with legions of international fans. Mizutani is famous for supposedly looking young enough to be in her twenties – the same age as her daughter. The youthful-looking 46-year-old regularly updates her blog with photos and selfies, but as well as praise and admiration, these pics have attracted allegations of Photoshop fakery.

Determined to prove that Masako’s beauty is the real deal, our reporter Nakano grabbed his camera and headed to a special “age-measuring” event the model was appearing at. Let’s take a look at his photo report!

Mizutani was appearing at the Tokyo AGEless Menu Fair, but don’t be fooled – the AGE in the title stands for Advanced Glycation End-products, substances that may cause or worsen degenerative diseases. The event was organised by the AGE sokutei suishin kyoukai (AGE測定推進協会), or “AGE Measurement Promotion Society”.

I’ll be honest – I can’t tell if the AGE Measurement Promotion Society is a legitimate medical association that just happens to have a slightly cheesy Japanese website, or an organisation that exists to sell body age-measuring machines and anti-ageing recipe books. Possibly both?

But I digress. Masako Mizutani was one of four special guests at the event, invited to have their “body age” measured. Our man Nakano reported delightedly that Mizutani looked every bit as stunning in person as he had hoped:

“She doesn’t look 46 at all!” he commented. She’s not just a beautiful witch, she’s a beautiful goddess!”

dscn7254

dscn7620

dscn7615

Next up, it was time for the main event – the age-measuring! What would Mizutani’s “body age” be? She has the body of a woman in her 30s, or even 20s, right…?

▼ Oh.

dscn7289

Yep, Mizutani’s “body age” is 51, apparently – a full five years older than her actual age! This wasn’t the result we were expecting at all! Never mind, she doesn’t look too upset about it…

▼ Oh no wait, maybe she does mind just a little bit.

dscn7645

▼ Although actually, only one of the four guests recorded a body age lower than their actual age.

dscn7640

But still, Nakano was blown away by Masako’s natural beauty, and continued to take photos to capture her radiance.

dscn7252

dscn7370

▼ The special guests then enjoyed sampling some (presumably anti-ageing?) foods.

dscn7499

dscn7502

dscn7536
dscn7456
“Never mind about the body age thing,” concluded Nakano. “Mizutani-san is just as beautiful in real life as she is in her selfies.”

You heard it here first, folks.

Is it really still 2015? Some Japanese netizens must be living in the future because over the past 18 months, they’ve had their hearts throbbing for “once-in-a-thousand-years” and “once-in-two-thousand-years” idols in Japan, a “once-in-four-thousand-years” idol in China, and now a gravure model from Vietnam has been crowned to join the millennia babe ranks.

Rocketeers, meet Japan’s latest “thousand-year” sweetheart, Elly Tran Ha.

Born August 6, 1987, Elly Tran Ha is of Vietnamese and Chinese, holds American citizenship, and is active as a model, gravure idol and actress in Vietnam, China and Korea. She has been on the radar of babe fanatics in Japan for several years now, and has recently returned to the cyber limelight because some netizens have started hailing her as a “once-in-a-thousand-years haafu beauty”.

Regardless of nationality or heritage, mixed-race individuals (collectively known as haafu, which means “half”) are generally seen as “exotic”, and are more often than not considered to be very attractive in Japan, so much so that some Japanese women are proactively looking to reel in a foreign catch solely for the purpose of having a haafu baby. Be it on variety programs, crime news, or even in these dubious “thousand-year” titles, if the person in the spotlight is a haafu, you can bet on it to be mentioned.

What sets Elly apart from other “once-in-a-thousand-years” beauty Kanna Hashimoto is, apart from her haafu status, her stunning body proportions. Net users have been bowled over by her sweet smile, but even more so than that, the contrasting combination of her angelic looks and her devilishly ample bosom.

After seeing four of these “thousand-year” babes, we think we’re seeing a trend here. The cyber citizens of Japan have a fondness for sweet-looking cute girls with big doe eyes, long hair, flawless fair skin and a vibrant smile…plus extra kudos if she has an impressively sized bust. We can understand what they’re going for. What we don’t get is, who decides how many thousand-years-rare these girls are, and based on what criteria were they “graded”?

Placing aside the fact that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, surely these titles are just an exaggerated expression and we don’t literally expect such beauties to surface only once in a millennium, but we’d expect them to be fairly few and far between, not one every couple of months! It was intriguing once or twice, but that series of millenia titles is starting to get stale, especially since we honestly can’t tell why one girl is a few thousand years rarer than another. Really, they’re all beautiful in their own ways, aren’t they?

Cute otaku Korean model entrances Japanese men online: “She can’t possibly be real!”

yurisa top

We’ve seen the Japanese side of the internet praise a lot of girls from different countries for their beauty. There’s been online idols from China, Vietnam, Taiwan, and of course plenty in Japan. But one country that has been conspicuously absent is Korea.

Until now. Internet, say hello to the latest girl who’s been melting Japanese hearts online: Yurisa from Korea. Oh, and did we mention she’s a giant otaku too?

Yurisa is a 20-year-old gothic lolita model from Korea who loves posting pictures of her work on her social media accounts. As if that wasn’t enough to get Japanese netizen’s keyboards sweaty already, she’s also a fan of Japanese anime, games, cosplay, and plastic figures. She’s attended several events in Japan as well.

So with that introduction out of the way, let’s get to what you really came here for: pics.

▼ Starting off with a classic, the wide-eyed selfie.

▼ Showing off her Cardcaptor Sakura school uniform cosplay.

▼ Clever use of the selfie stick in place of Sakura’s magic staff.

▼ Some of her gothic lolita work.

▼ And the obligatory Hestia cosplay, though we do have to applaud her for the incredible accuracy on this one.

▼ Just hangin’ out havin’ a tea party.

▼ Fangirling out at a “figurine cafe.”

▼ Putting together a Gundam model of her own.

Yurisa so impressed Japanese netizens with her beauty and hobbies that many were adamant that she “couldn’t possibly be real.” They claimed she had to be photoshopped or something. Well, while we can’t vouch for the above pictures being photoshopped or not, here’re some videos of Yurisa so you can confirm that she is indeed a real human being:

▼ Just casually sipping a drink in a cafe in lolita dress.

▼ You can see her human-ness from a nice, sideways angle too.

If you’ve suddenly found yourself becoming a fan of Yurisa, then feel free to give her a follow on one of her social media outlets below. We can’t promise it’s not a robot updating her pages, but somehow we doubt most people will mind one way or the other.

Every once in a while, we touch upon the topic of crossdressing, and more often than not, the attention is placed on men crossdressing as women. Iconic male crossdressers such as Ladybeard and the “Sailor Suit Old Man” have been steadily gaining popularity, but at the same time, women who crossdress as men have also been bringing a new breeze into the entertainment scene in Japan.

Female crossdressing model Root has been the talk of the town in recent months, capturing the hearts of thousands of fangirls with her good looks and smooth moves. Some even think that she’s more desirable than actual male idols! More pictures of the lady charmer after the break!

There are many girls in Japan who like bishounen (beautiful young men), so it’s no surprise that suave dansou joshi (girls who crossdress as men) such as Root (ルウト; @chitoseruto) are becoming the center of many girls’ fantasies.

Standing at a height of 165cm (5’5″), Root is not particularly tall or well-built, but she has been giving male artistes such as the Johnny’s idols a run for their fangirls. Fans have been raving over how cool yet cute the talented crossdresser is.

▼ This seems to be one of Root’s favorite poses.

▼ We can’t imagine how many girls are dreaming of getting a kabe-don from Root.

Besides modelling for magazines such as KERA, BOKU, Gothic & Lolita Bible, as well as men’s fashion magazine Men’s Spider, Root has also starred in stage adaptations of popular anime/game titles such as Sailor Moon (as Jadeite), Jitsuzai-Sei Million Arthur (as Mordred) and Vampire Knight (as Zero Kiryuu).

On top of that, the charismatic model has also made her singing debut as one third of an ikemen joshi unit known as Signal, produced by famous Vocaloid song writer Hachioji P. Ikemen refers to hot guys, but in this special case, it is paired with the word joshi (girl), which makes it sound kinda oxymoronic, but “hot-guy girls” is perhaps the most fitting description there is for these handsome girls.

Thai-American model born without legs smashes beauty standards: “I don’t need legs to feel sexy.”

kanya sesser top

Different cultures may have different beauty standards, but one beauty requirement that was thought to be universal in the world of modelling is having a set of long, shapely legs.

But now even that idea is being challenged. Thai-born model Kanya Sesser was born without legs, but she hasn’t let that hold her back. She currently works as a lingerie model, and she’s transforming people’s notions about what it means to be “beautiful” all over the world.

Kanya Sesser was abandoned by her parents shortly after her birth, left outside a Buddhist temple. Despite her traumatic childhood though, she was adopted at age five and taken to the U.S. where she didn’t just survive, she positively thrived.

Now 23 years old, Kanya does pretty much everything you wouldn’t expect her to: she skateboards, surfs, gives motivational speeches, and of course, models sportswear and lingerie.

Here’s some sample photos of her work:

▼ The classic “don’t care about no stairs” look.

Instagram Photo

▼ The classic “make your jaw drop” look.

Instagram Photo

▼And the classic “something probably symbolic that you can’t quite figure out” look.

When asked about how she feels being a model, Kanya had this to say:

“I love showing people what beauty can look like. I don’t need legs to feel sexy. … I’m different and that is sexy.”

And apparently it’s not just sexy, it’s downright profitable too. Kanya makes over US$1,000 per day modeling lingerie, and her popularity and demand is only going up. Here’s a few more images of her to show why that’s the case:

▼ Yup, I would have a concussion if I attempted that.

Instagram Photo

▼ Sometimes you just gotta dress up a bit.

Instagram Photo

▼ That face says: “Oh, you think I’m half-buried in sand? Here, let me show you something….”

▼ Is this how kids skateboard these days?

Instagram Photo

▼ Just hanging out at the beach.

Instagram Photo

▼ Showing up everyone at the skate park.

Instagram Photo

▼ And making everyone really jealous of her cupcake.

Have you suddenly found yourself to be a fan of Kanya? Then give her a follow on Instagram or Facebook. Her no-nonsense attitude and infectious smile may just be the inspiration you’ve been looking for.

Catalogue featuring only “ugly” hair models helps us feel less awkward at the salon

Hands up everyone who hates getting a hair cut! The awkward small talk; the staring at your own mush in a mirror for an hour or more; feeling the need to pretend you love your finished cut even when you’re actually going to put a hat on the second you leave the salon—it’s all too much to bear sometimes.

While some people manage to have fun at the salon, others find it difficult simply communicating to their stylist the look they want. Sure, you could just take a cutout from a magazine with you, but what if the person in the photo is so much better-looking than you are? Cringe!

Luckily, the “Busa hair” (lit. “ugly hair”) catalogue—which features only less-than-good-looking hair models—is here to save you some embarrassment the next time you go for a trim!

Apparently, the issue of feeling embarrassed to ask for the same hairstyle as a very attractive model in a catalogue has become so prevalent in Japan that a demand has arisen for a catalogue of “ugly” models with fabulous hair that you can safely attempt to imitate without effectively having to ask your stylist to make you look like the girl on the cover of Vogue magazine. Because humility is a virtue we all appreciate, amiright?

Taking a look at some of these models, however, I have to say that they don’t exactly strike us as ugly, per se; more ‘humble’ or perfectly average-looking. But then, I suppose that’s perfect for those who find hot models unspeakably intimidating, even in printed form.

While some of the poses these models strike look a little tongue-in-cheek, you can rest assured that all of the people here have been groomed by stylists and are demonstrating some of the current hottest cuts.

Personally, we’d probably be a little more embarrassed taking along a picture of one of these goofily posing models than just snipping one out of a magazine. But then again, our RocketNews 24 writers are all model-quality to begin with, and don’t seem to share the same level of shame which cripples those less blessed with outer beauty.

A little while ago, we reported on the moving, life-size R2-D2 refrigerator, which we thought was pretty darn cool. And now, it looks like we’ve found another amazing Star Wars item that’s sure to make fans’ mouths water. It’s a 1/43-scale model of the iconic Millennium Falcon, and the detail is unbelievable!

This impressive Star Wars collector’s item is actually a huge project to undertake, as you’ll be building it yourself with the parts made available in weekly installments from Japanese publisher DeAGOSTINI, known for their wide range of serial collectible magazines.  And just how big an undertaking is this Millennium Falcon series meant to be? Well, you’ll want to be prepared for some long-term commitment, because it’ll take you about two years to complete!

MF 1_R

The starship model you’ll be able to create with the parts from this “Weekly Star Wars” series will be 1/43 the size of the “real” Millennium Falcon and will also be a full-scale replica of the model used in the filming of the original Star Wars trilogy, Episodes IV to VI. When finished, it will measure 80.8 centimeters long (approx two feet, eight inches) and 59.6 centimeters wide (approx two feet), and weigh in at a hefty 7.5 kilograms (16.5 pounds).  It even has lights that turn on and some electronically movable parts as well, such as the boarding ramp and landing gear.

▼ She’s a beauty, isn’t she? Now, what Star Wars fan wouldn’t want to have one of these?

MF 2_R

▼ She’s looking even more impressive with the lights on!

MF 3_R

MF 4_R

▼ The detail is absolutely incredible!

MF 7_R

MF 8_R

MF 10_R

MF 11_R

MF 12_R

Each part comes with an easy to follow instruction guide with plenty of pictures, so you won’t have to worry about being able to put the pieces together. And while there will be a large number of parts to assemble, you also won’t need to use glue or paint to complete the ship.

MF 5_R

The magazine that comes with the parts will contain information on not just the Millennium Falcon but on other spacecraft as well, again with many beautiful pictures for your viewing entertainment.

MF 6_R

But that’s not all. The first batch of parts will come with a poster featuring a blueprint of the Millennium Falcon. Plus, if you order online by February 14, you’ll receive a special work mat (pictured left below) which you can use while you’re building the model, and you’ll also get a 1/10-scale Darth Vader figure (pictured right) if you subscribe by the 25th issue.

MF 13_R

Now, tell us all of those goodies don’t whet your appetite! The very first issue of Weekly Star Wars will come out on January 5, 2016 at a special price of 499 yen (US$4), while each subsequent volume will be priced at 1,998 yen.

You can cancel your subscription any time, but if you’re determined to complete your very own Millennium Falcon, the entire series will last for 100 issues, and with an issue a week … well, you can calculate how long the whole process will take. Maybe you can comfort yourself that the Force should (probably) be with you while you’re working on this project!

Taiwan noodle shop’s popularity skyrockets and it’s not because of the noodles

Apparently the old adage that sex sells even applies to beef noodle restaurants.

The “Dameng Beef Noodles” restaurant has risen to fame in Taiwan but it’s not the food that’s attracting all of the attention. Instead, it’s shop owner Dameng Meizi, who has managed to lift the profile of her shop by dressing in revealing outfits and cosplay uniforms. No one ever said beef noodles and bunny girl outfits don’t mix!

Screen shot 2016-08-03 at 4.18.21 PM

Dameng Meizi worked as a video game broadcaster from November 2015 until March this year when she announced she would launch a noodle shop with investment money collected from her friends – and the store has already been inundated with customers and fans.

▼ Dameng Meizi’s Instagram account tells us that she isn’t too camera shy.

Instagram Photo

The restaurateur has received criticism for her outfits but she claims that she was wearing revealing clothes even before she opened the shop saying, “This is how I was before.” She says she had no intention of using sexy outfits to sell her food – she wants to be “successful through taste”.

See this video below of Dameng Meizi running her shop — as well as customers that might be there for more than just the culinary delights.

The price for a bowl of beef noodles is 90 Taiwan dollars (about US$2.83). The shop also serves gyoza and other side dishes.

Japan’s most beautiful breasts may be set to travel abroad

Winner of the Bioppai (“beautiful breasts”) Contest 2016 expresses interest in foreign adventures.

Japan’s most beautiful breasts may soon be losing their overseas virginity. Ryoko Nakaoka, the 2016 winner of Japan’s most beautiful breasts competition, says she has never been overseas but would like to travel to Indonesia if she gets the chance.

▼ Nakaoka posing after winning the 2016 Bioppai Contest

Instagram Photo

The 23-year-old from Tokyo said if she was offered work as a model or actress, she’d “gladly like to go to Indonesia”. Nakaoka expressed a specific interest in Bali, saying, “I definitely want to go there”.

Given her expression of interest to start traveling overseas, she may see an influx of offers coming from all over the world – surely Japan’s most beautiful breasts will be highly sought after by businesses around the globe.

▼ Nakaoka says she was nervous for her photo shoot.

Instagram Photo

Nakaoka won the 2016 Bioppai Contest just last month, which was presided over by a panel of five judges. The entrants’ breasts were evaluated from a “female perspective” although two of the five judges were men.

One of the judges, media personality Maggie, said Nakaoka’s “breasts have a good shape… and you just want to touch them because they’re so fluffy, which was really the deciding factor.”

Instagram Photo

Nakaoka’s victory has boosted her career in modelling with the winning prize being a chance to appear in the pages of the fashion publication Free Magazine. No news yet on whether or not she’ll be fully dressed for the photo shoot, but if she is required to wear clothing, we think some keyhole lingerie or a strappy bondage bikini would show off her prize-winning assets nicely.

“Animals as Art” releases incredibly realistic, life-size polar bear figures 【Pics and Video】

Trick your friends into thinking that you own an actual polar bear, all while supporting WWF.

Have you ever wanted to keep a polar bear as a pet? Well, you still can’t do that, but the Japanese company Animals as Art has made it possible for you to live with this life-like polar bear figure. You’ll feel just as if you’re living with a mother polar bear and her cub that sleep all the time. It’s pretty much the same as a cat, right?

images-112

These polar bear figures are made completely with materials that don’t harm animals. That includes everything from the skin to the claws and even to those scary-looking teeth. The fur is even made with the same realistic materials used for animal figures on Hollywood sets.

bearimg5

Each bear is crafted by three master figure producers and five assistants. The main producer has over 30 years of experience making figures for movie sets like Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy and Godzilla vs. King Kong.

▼ Here’s what they look like size-wise. The mama bear weighs in at 110
kilograms (242 pounds) and 2.85 meters in length (112 inches).

mamabear

▼ The cub weighs a far more manageable 20 kilograms
(44 pounds) and is only 1 meter (3 feet) in length.

babybear

Now let’s talk cash. These masterpiece polar bears don’t come cheap. The Adult and Cub set costs a whopping 13,400,000 yen (US $117,005). No, that’s not a typo. The adult polar bear by itself costs 8,900,000 yen ($77,700). As of now, the cub isn’t being sold by itself.

bearimg13

While that may be a hefty price tag, Animals as Art will donate one-percent of their profits to WWF Japan. That means when you purchase an Adult and Cub set, you’ll get a huge and realistic pair of bears and donate 134,000 yen to a charity that benefits actual animals.

If you’re wealthy (and/or crazy) enough to purchase one of these brilliant creations, send us pics or it didn’t happen. And if you still want a big fluffy animal in your life that’s a little more affordable, might be suggest a giant realistic cat head instead?

By popular demand, pro cosplayer models survey’s five most popular outfits

$

Unfortunately, some clothing items seem to have mysteriously gone missing.

Japan’s Young Jump magazine is primarily a manga magazine but they also dabble in girls wearing cosplay outfits. In a recent Young Jump edition professional cosplayer Enako graced the front cover. But that’s not all folks. The geniuses at Young Jump thought “How can we get a little interaction happening between our model and the audience?”

▼ The Young Jump edition with Enako on the front cover

“I know, how about an online survey where people can vote for what they want her to wear?” I can imagine one staff member proposing, all excited-like.

Well, they actually went through with this gem of an idea. And Twitter benefitted.

So without further ado here are the top five most requested outfits for Enako, according to the Young Jump survey.

We’ll start with number five:

According to Young Jump this was the fifth-most-popular requested outfit. The tweet says the uniform represents “no school club affiliation, taking a break”. The photo shoot “started out from requests of the standard sailor suit uniform” but it transcended (or descended) into this. Not sure though if having no skirt/pants still classifies as cosplay.

Coming in at what I assume is number four (but actually says “number 1” on the tweet) is the “tennis club princess.”

Can’t say I’ve seen any girl wearing anything close to this at Wimbledon.

And at number three we have “drama club girl”:

The Young Jump group says they were disappointed they couldn’t show off Enako’s swimsuit under the skirt in this photo – oh the humanity!

The second-most-requested cosplay outfit for Enako was the “high-class swimming club member.”

Apparently lace rabbit ears are all the craze in those upper class school swimming clubs in Japan these days.

And number one, drum roll please, the “official baseball club.”

Not sure if this was chosen because this was the same outfit Enako wore on the front cover, or because baseball is amazingly popular in Japan, or because skin is a prominent feature of the outfit.

Last year, Enako was recently in the news for claiming she earned more in two days at Comiket than most people make all year. Maybe its time to swap the keyboard for some cosplay activities.

And if you haven’t seen enough, here are some more Enako cosplay photo shoots – just for anyone whose interested in the art of costume design.

This Japanese race queen is really an elementary school student

The 13-year-old schoolgirl has fired up debate about young girls in the modelling industry.

Whether it’s a “once-in-a-millenium beauty” or a hot 43-year-old mom, Japanese netizens are adept at identifying beautiful women who eventually take the Internet by storm.

However, their gaze has now landed upon a more controversial model – a 13-year-old girl who modeled as a race queen in a superbike race called the 48th MFJ Grand Prix.

Instagram Photo

At the time when the photo was taken, 12-year-old Momoka Kurita was an elementary school student taking ballet, dance, singing, piano, guitar, gymnastics and modeling classes. While many might argue that Kurita should be spending more time at school rather than in the adult world of modeling, Kurita says she enjoys what she’s doing, and her mother is supportive of whatever she does.

Still, her appearance as a race queen at such a tender age sparked controversy online, with people leaving comments like:

“What’s so interesting about dressing up a child as an adult? Stop it already.”
“The parents are foolish. You shouldn’t dress up your children like dolls.”
“She’s cute, but dressing up an elementary student as a race queen is just wrong.”
“This is scary.”
“Don’t you dare steal her childhood.”

Despite the controversy, Kurita is still keen to pursue a career as a model, with the now 13-year-old middle school student juggling her academic duties while modeling for various brands. She is currently auditioning for the renowned Tokyo Girls Audition (TGA), which is a massive project held every year aimed at discovering the next top models and artists in Japan.

While chasing your dreams is good and all, one can’t help but wonder about the pressures of modern-day society and their effects on our next generation. Let your little ones frolic in playgrounds, let them have fun. After all, everyone has only one childhood. Let children be children.

Malaysian man pays over US$46,000 to look like Final Fantasy’s Squall Leonhart【Photos】

A shed-load of plastic surgery and cosmetic products later, the model looks (a bit) like his Final Fantasy VIII video game mercenary inspiration.

21-year-old Amirul Rizwan Musa, started modelling back in 2014 and since that time has had several surgical procedures, with costs totalling RM200,000 (US$46,865) in order to edge closer to his Squall Leonhart ideal. No hand model he, Musa is the face of a number of cosmetic products, including skin whitening creams and tablets. This may also go some way to explaining his pale complexion, more in keeping with Squall than with his earlier photos. While several individuals have attempted to achieve a Barbie doll-like appearance, Musa may be one of the first professional models to try and emulate someone from the Final Fantasy video game franchise.

While Musa has plenty of fans throughout the world, not everyone is enamoured with his look and the extreme lengths he has gone to attain it. In an interview with the Malaysian newspaper Harian Metro, Musa explained that he often receives abusive calls and messages and that people will even travel to see him to insult him to his face. Where’s a gunblade when you need one?

It’s not all bad though, as the publicity has only helped his own cosmetic products business and even led to Musa being offered acting parts and sponsorship deals.

▼ Musa’s “before” and “after” shots, results he claims are thanks to vitamin tablets (with an assist from extensive surgery).

▼ Musa’s quest to look like his hero has made it into the media both in his native Malaysia and further afield

Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, we’d like to think that Squall himself would be pleased with the results, although being an angsty so-and-so he’d probably just say “whatever”.

Meow! Japanese Internet comes together to appreciate “artfully” posed nude cat photos

At long last, photogenic kitty pics that are SFW.

In a modern age of easy Internet access, the hyper-sexualisation of society continues apace, and no where is this more readily seen that in the number of cat nudes flooding the net. Naked cats can be seen in all sorts of situations, whether snuggled up against comparatively over-dressed humans, using the Internet to look at their own kind, or being two-faced.

But thanks to this photo from Twitter user @oekn_ne , we now know that with a little bit of covering up to preserve a kitty’s modesty, cat pictures can be art, rather than just smut.

▼ This cat would be wearing nothing but a smile if it weren’t for those tastefully placed exotic flowers.

Despite being a tweet, @oken_ne labelled it “Instagrammer” referring to the photo’s similarity to that very modern phenomenon of the Instagram model/attention seeker with its stylish yet sexy star playing to the camera. For others, it brought to mind the scantily clad or unclothed beauties from whose body sushi or sashimi is eaten. Probably not the best idea to try to recreate that particular phenomenon with cats, though.

Comments were largely confined to the ubiquitous cries of “Kawaii!” (“How cute!”), but it also seems that @oken_ne isn’t the only one artfully posing their cats to photograph, as Twitter user @u_sanmokedarui also posted this image in response:

These bewitching little minxes don’t leave a lot to the imagination, except perhaps for questions regarding the owners’ tenuous grip on sanity. Of course there will be some saying that the flowers don’t go far enough. Perhaps the next trend will be for more modest feline wear, perhaps even photos of cats in fur-khas.
